Venue Details

Rogers Arena is an indoor multi-purpose arena located in downtown Vancouver. The venue, formerly known as General Motors Place, first opened its doors on September 21, 1995. The Rogers Arena has a seating capacity of about 19,700 and features four large video displays, 88 luxury suites and a $5 million LED scoreboard. Since opening, the Vancouver venue has become a world-renowned facility for sports and live entertainment.

No true Canadian arena would be complete without a professional hockey team, and the Rogers Arena proves its authenticity by housing the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks. Aside from the numerous hockey matches featured on the Roger Arena schedule, the facility has also gained attention for hosting distinguished national and international sports events. One of the arena's most recent claims to fame was its role as a primary venue for ice hockey in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Of course, it's not just about sports at the Rogers Arena Vancouver. Each year, the schedule also plays host to a wide range of family shows, private and corporate events, and concerts. Taylor Swift, Carlos Santana, Soundgarden, Usher, Kesha, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Katy Perry and Bon Jovi are just a few of the superstar names featured on the Rogers Arena schedule in the past.

With such an array of high caliber live sport and entertainment events on offer, it's easy to understand how Rogers Arena has been able to bring in over 15 million visitors since it first opened. It is, without a doubt, one of Canada's premier multi-purpose venues.
