Experience Italian culture, food and fun as the Little Italy Association presents the largest Italian festival on the West Coast with its 18th annual Little FESTA!, celebrating Italian food, culture and entertainment. San Diego’s famous Little Italy neighborhood will be transformed Sunday, October 14, 2012 to feature tasty Italian cuisine, traditional and modern Italian music, and a children’s area that will make Little Italy FESTA! a true family event.
Attendees are invited to participate in a raffle. With just a $5 investment, a lucky winner can take home a shiny red Vespa!
Italian food choices will include restaurants and vendor booths, as well as tastes from the festival’s “Italian Table” stage which featuring local chefs. Celebrity chef Antonia Lofaso will present a demo on the Medaglia D’Oro stage at 2:30PM. . Three stages of musical entertainment will play an array of Italian and eclectic music, and for those 21 and up, LIA will present a beer and wine garden featuring Italian and local brews.
“Gesso Italiano” area brings more than 160 talented artists together to create colorful works of art using chalk as their medium and the city streets as their canvas. This year’s theme for these amazing chalk paintings is “Regions of Italy”. Guests are also encouraged to take a seat and cheer on the Italian stickball exhibition game and watch the bocce ball tournament that will take place.
