Adams Avenue in Normal Heights and Kensington is already a happenin’ hotspot, but on April 21-22, the street will get a little bit cooler.
That’s when a new weekend music festival – “Adams Avenue Unplugged” – will make its debut along a two-mile stretch of Adams Avenue from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
More than 30 participating restaurants and bars stretching from Normal Heights to Kensington will present more than 170 live acoustic performances from local San Diego musicians representing a variety of genres. Participating restaurants include the Blind Lady Ale House, Ponce's Mexican and Lestat's.
Additionally, three community stages will be spread out on Adams Avenue.
When not listening to the sounds of music, attendees can visit the unique shops located in the area or grab a bite to eat at one of the many eateries.
Adams Avenue Unplugged is programmed by a quartet of local music vets who have curated past musica festivals. The musicians behind this latest offering include Kent Johnson, Lou Curtiss, Louis Brazier, and Steve Kader. It’s being produced by the Adams Avenue Business Association.
The event is free and open to the public.
Since street parking is limited in the area, a free Trolley service will be provided to attendees along Adams Avenue, as well as bicycle valet service.
